Meetinghouse WWII Veteran Addresses the Union
In late September, Meetinghouse Village resident Lynn Hagemeister was invited to address the 40th reunion of the 368th Fighter Group – an association of WW II pilots and ground teams who flew the famous P-47 “Thunderbolt” fighter planes of that era.
Lynn, one of only seven known remaining veterans from the 368th, spoke largely to families of his former group members at the reunion event in Washington, DC. His purpose was to provide attendees with a challenge to fill their calling with the same determination as did “the greatest generation.”
We are proud to have Lynn – and all the veterans of our country that Meetinghouse and Vernon serve – as distinctive members of our communities.
Slowly Revealing the River
The Vernon Homes campus has always been fortunate to sit high on the banks of the Connecticut River. Over time, however, forest growth has obscured the view. Recently, work began with a forest manager to thin and harvest timber, the goal being to access our river view once again. When complete, the project will enhance our grounds with an impressive panorama.
